Getting in Front of IT Challenges

Getting in Front of IT Challenges by pendragon Coming off a 4 month stint as the acting CIO for the American Bar Association, I had the opportunity to share some thoughts about problems facing IT departments. These thoughts apply both to larger IT departments and to smaller IT departments or even firms without IT staff. This article focuses on I.T. challenges in enterprise environments, including the need to plan, budget, and focus on the right skills for your staff.

Astute technology decisions can generate concrete competitive advantages and improved bottom lines. Poor choices can exacerbate already bad situations. The margins for error are decreasing — and firms must balance innovation with the natural caution that arises in an uncertain economy.”
