Go Granholm! by pendragon David Whelan This country is starved for good politicians. George or Jeb Bush? Mental lightweights, cultural incompetents. Schwarzenegger, Kennedy, you name the party, you can’t miss the mediocrity. That’s why it’s great when someone like Jennifer Granholm comes on to the scene. What a great day when she was elected governor of the great state of Michigan. Now, it may be that I like Governor Granholm because she was born in Canada. More than that, though, she impresses one as a sensible, no-nonsense politician. Living in the political wasteland that is Illinois, it is with some hope that, some day, more states will return to the hard-working, civic minded type of leadership that Michiganders have elected in Governor Granholm.
