Cloud computing involves multiple layers of technology, a stack that resembles your computer. There’s a hardware layer, there’s an operating system layer, and there’s one for software. This is a list of resources that lawyers might find useful at that last layer – known as Software-as-a-Service or SaaS – which is also where the legal specific cloud applications are to be found.
This is not meant as a comprehensive list, either of products or categories, but rather to give lawyers interested in practicing in the cloud a starting point. If you would like to have your cloud application listed on this site, please read this.
Many bar associations have discounts or other benefits available. See, for example, the technology member benefits for American Bar Association members on cloud services. Check your state and local bar associations for discounts that might make your decision-making easier.
