The beavers haven’t been visible for awhile. The temperatures have been going up and down and so has the water level. But I’ve noticed their tell-tale signs – teeth marks – on trees on the opposite side of the path from the river. I have seen that before but they seem to be getting quite far afield, with some stumps (very small) appearing a good 30 feet from the rivers edge, and 15 or more feet past the path. These look like some was just having a try out on this trunk, although it was so close to the path they may have been disturbed after a first taste.
