Resting Grasshopper

This grasshopper was on the asphalt one hot day as I walked home.  Unfortunately, the cyclists whizzing along the path often crush the living things that venture onto it.  I’ve seen squashed frogs, caterpillars, and snails.  The red tibia of this grasshopper is quite distinctive.  I can’t tell if it’s been injured, since it shouldn’t really be bent up that way, or not.
