It is late summer along the Holland River and the purple asters have taken over from the white daisies. They’re especially striking amongst the tall yellow goldenrod.
These blue asters are a lovely alternative to the many white asters along the river. There is something about the bright yellow center and the blue petals that I find very attractive.
The riverbank is an expanse of green with flowers appearing amongst the tall weeds. The white asters seem the best at making themselves visible amidst the rest of their environment. We’ve had rain on and off for a few weeks. The white asters are starting to pop up and I found these large ones with dots of rain on their petals after a morning shower.
